Aging: Free Radicals And Antioxidants

FREE RADICALS and ANTIOXIDANTS.

WHAT IS THE RELATION BETWEEN AGING WITH FREE RADICALS AND, OXIDATION?

We know that aging is caused by Free Radicals and Antioxidants cover the oxidation damages.

3 things are involved:

1 – DNA damage due to the

  • Environment
  • Internal Attacks
  • Inflammation
  • and Glycation

2 – Shortening of telomeres
3 – Depletion of the stock of stem cells

WHAT IS OXIDATION?

Oxidation is the second cause of DNA damage inside our body.
When we cut an apple and leave it exposed to the air, the apple becomes brown. We call it oxidation.
It’s a chemical reaction that happens every time oxygen is involved and oxygen is involved everywhere in our body. It will oxidize everything including our DNA.

WHAT ARE FREE RADICALS AND HOW DO THEY DAMAGE OUR BODY?

Tissues are made of cells of molecules that are made of atoms.
An atom is a set of electrical structures:

  • negative electrons,
  • positive protons,
  • and neutrons.

An atom must be stable and for that, it is necessary that this positive and negative energy is always in equilibrium.

Or oxygen, as much as it is essential, more it causes oxidation.

A free radical will steal 1 electron from an atom causing destabilization of this atom.

The only way to regain stabilization is to steal an electron from someone else, which can cause a cascade of free radicals which are in constant motion and can destabilize our homeostasis.

This chemical reaction in our body causes the production of oxygen and the donation of free radicals.

Fortunately, we have the counterpart which is the antioxidants which are free donors of electrons.

The problem is that we have too much oxidation and few antioxidants in the body, which leads to DNA damage.

WHAT IS AN ANTIOXIDANT?

Antioxidants are designed to counteract the destructive action of oxygen.
But this is not enough to cover all damages done by oxidation.

Antioxidant

That’s why our body uses “extra” antioxidants coming from our food and especially from colored fruits:

  • Blueberries,
  • Acai,
  • Cherries,
  • Red Grapes,
  • Pomegranate

And these antioxidant fruits added with

  • Green Tea,
  • Aloe Vera,
  • and Resveratrol,

we obtain a strong gel.

This GEL has an excellent combination of antioxidants especially for repairing DNA damage.

THE BENEFITS

  • Resist oxidative stress and premature aging.
  • Supports healthy cardiovascular function (Anthocyanins)
  • Helps digestive tract function (Essential fatty acids) – Improves fat regulation
  • Immune system healthy support
  • Helps maintain a healthy metabolism
  • Supports healthy energy
  • Supports healthy inflammation (a leading cause of DNA damage) and joint function
  • Due to Resveratrol, it has the power to activate the special genes to survive to protect the DNA
  • Increases endurance, increases the number of energy-producing mitochondria in cells muscles.
  • It also enhances muscle strength and reduces muscle fatigue along with coordination improvement.
  • Enhances memory, with age we also see a gradual decline in memory, reaction time, and processing of information. This gel enhances memory and reaction time.
  • Antibacterial (Blueberry)
  • Vitamin P properties: strengthens capillary resistance, improves microcirculation (Blueberry)
  • Anti-platelet (Blueberry)
  • It improves resistance against chronic inflammation; Inflammation is one of the leading causes of DNA damage. Resveratrol has been proven to reduce inflammation at the cellular level.
  • Increases myocardium resistance (Blueberry)
  • Helps to maintain a rate of cholesterol and healthy inflammatory level (Sweet Blackberry)
  • Provides support for the immune system. Cardio-tonic. Diuretic. Stimulant (Green Tea)
  • Anti-inflammatory, Immuno-stimulant, Hypolipemiant, Hypoglycemia (Aloe Vera)
  • Natural source of vitamin C (Grape juice concord).
  • It improves fat regulation; in 2005, scientists discovered that resveratrol appears to counter the effects of elevated fatty acids and also slows sugar absorption in the intestines.

Thesaurus

  • Cardio-tonic: increases the force of the contraction of the muscle (myocardium) of the heart.
  • Diuretic: increases the flow of urine.
  • Stimulant: induces alertness, elevated mood, wakefulness, increased speech, and motor activity, and decreases appetite.
  • Anti-platelet: prevents the formation of a thrombus
  • Hypolipemiant: lipid-lowering
  • Hypoglycemia: blood sugar-lowering
